The Oath
I uphold responsibility to myself first.
I understand that no system fails without my participation in its failure.
No bond breaks without my compromise of it.
No standard collapses without my consent.
As people, we do not rise anymore to our aspirations as we fall to the strength of our systems.
Therefore, I strengthen mine.
I confront self-limitation.
I acknowledge trauma without rehearsing it.
I examine speculation as condition, not identity.
Every condition has a catalyst.
Every catalyst has a component.
I take responsibility for finding it.
I am not static.
I am adaptive.
I am architect and material.
I am alchemy in motion.
If I violate this Oath within the collective,
I will have first violated it within myself.
The failure would be mine before it was ours.
Therefore, I uphold discipline privately
so integrity stands publicly.
